League Format
The NAFL began play with 4 teams in 2022, and grew to 6 teams in 2023. For 2024 we will again play with 6 teams, with the Seattle Sockeyes replacing the Florida Vikings. The season will be played over the course of three weeks in three different states, with 3 teams hosting the other teams for round-robin play in their home venue. This year games will be played in Austin (Georgetown) Texas, Nashville (Clarksville) Tennessee, and Duluth Minnesota. Each team will play 3 to 5 games per week. The teams will each play 10 regular season games, and the top four teams will advance to the playoffs, which will be held on the final Saturday and Sunday of the season.
The regular season will be played during the month of July 2024. The league is played using the rules promulgated by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). All games will consist of three 20-minute periods with clock stoppage on every whistle. Games cannot end in a tie. Teams are awarded 3 points for a win, 2 points for an overtime win, 1 point for an overtime loss, and 0 points for a loss in regulation. A 15 second shot clock has been implemented for penalty shots.
